WHAT ARE CHEMICAL PEELS?
Chemical peels are skincare treatments that involve the application of mild acids directly to the skin. Commonly used acids such as Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and Beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) are safe for skin and act as exfoliating agents causing skin to “blister” and eventually peel off. As old skin peels off, new skin emerges leading to a smoother and less wrinkled complexion. There are three common variations of peels: Superficial, Medium, and Deep. At Wow Medi Spa, we use superficial peels for mild treatments and deep, penetrating peels for severe conditions.
WHAT IS THE CHEMICAL PEEL PROCESS?
Before your treatment, it’s important to take antiviral medicine if you are prone to developing cold sores. The application process can take just a few minutes to an hour depending on peel type and condition severity. When the peel is applied, you may feel a slight burning or stinging sensation. After treatment, it’s extremely important to protect your treated skin from sun exposure by using a transparent zinc oxide sun-blocker before going outdoors.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM CHEMICAL PEELS?
Post-treatment, peels can cause remodeling of collagen and increase the elastic fiber content of your skin. Collagen and elastin (an elastic fiber) are the key proteins needed to maintain skin radiance and tightness. There is some downtime with certain deep cleansing peels. However, the results can be seen after just 1 session!

Wow Peel – Hydroquinone Free (Up to 6 Layers)
