WHAT IS BOTOX?

Botox is an FDA-approved treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment is made from a toxin called botulinum and works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles in the face. This non-surgical treatment is most often used on frown lines, crow’s feet, wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows. Botox can also be used to reduce the appearance of lines around the mouth and sagging skin on the neck and jawline. Some patients may also have Botox treatments for migraines, excessive sweating, and urinary incontinence.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A BOTOX TREATMENT?

Before any treatment takes place, we offer a thorough consultation to understand the patient’s concerns and expectations from treatment. We then evaluate each patient’s face to determine the best injection sites and thoroughly clean the treatment area. Then using a small needle, we make several injections of the Botox serum. Some patients may request a topical anesthetic, but most do not find the injection process painful. The treatment takes between 15-30 minutes, depending on the number of injections needed to address the patient’s concerns. The results start to be noticeable within a few days of treatment, with the full effects perceivable in approximately a week to 10 days.

HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS LAST?

Unfortunately, Botox is not a permanent solution to fight the signs of aging. The initial results usually last up to three months following treatment. Patients may have additional treatments at regular intervals to maintain the smooth and youthful appearance provided by Botox. Some patients find that with regular Botox injections, muscles become conditioned to rest, allowing for longer intervals between treatments.

IS BOTOX SAFE?


Botox has been approved by the FDA for cosmetic purposes. It is important that you find a trained provider, such as those staffed at Wow, to perform the injections. Botox is a safe, effective, and nonsurgical method of reducing the signs of aging.

Concerns treated by Botox

  1. A 50% deposit is mandatory for all services booked at WOW Medispa.
  2. Failure to show up without prior notice will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
  3. Clients are allowed a 15-minute grace period for their appointments; however, exceeding this limit may lead to the cancellation of appointment and loss of the deposit.
  4. There is a cancellation fee of $25.00 for any cancellations made outside the 48-hour window before the scheduled appointment.
